Information About Olivia - Galway tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Olivia:
I'm in my final year of my masters in NUIG completing the PME to qualify as Secondary school teacher in Spanish and Geography.
I recently graduated in the same university in 2017 with an international honours degree in those subjects. As a language learner myself, I understand the difficulties of developing a language such as vocabulary, grammar, prononciation and overall fluency whether these may be oral or written challenges. Im a patient and understanding teacher and will work according to students needs and abilities.
For the past year, I have taught 1st 2nd and 5th year Spanish and geography in salerno secondary school, in salthill. I have also done one on one tutoring with students with learning difficulties i.e leaving cert student who has aural difficulties and a being a scribe and reader for a junior cert student. I currently teaching 1st, 2nd and TYs this year in Merlin college.I love to teach all ages and gain as much experience as I can.
Approach to Grinds:
My approach to grinds varies depending on the needs of each individual student. However I tend to balance out Listening, reading & writing generally speaking in Spanish and with geography, i want my approach to be similar to my approach in the classroom- focused, helpful and pacey.
I am willing to listen to the needs of each tutee to create a programme in order to progress their understanding. I can quickly assess key areas that need to be improved and target these throughout the tutoring programme
