Personal Description:

Hello, my name is Mikey. I'm 23 years old and am an aspiring secondary school teacher. I'm originally from Laois, but I have been living in Limerick now for almost 5 years. I'm also a qualified TEFL and ESL teacher. I have a major Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and English, and from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick and will receive my degree when I graduate this October. I also have a minor Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology- also from Mary Immaculate College. I have a big interest in sport and can connect with students in this way, although not a necessity.

Tutoring Experience:

Teacher at NED College English language school, Limerick. Have 1 years secondary school teaching experience in English and History at both Junior and Senior Cycle level. Have thought in secondary schools during academic placements. Have subbing experience at primary school level.

Approach to Grinds:

I like to get to know my students on a more personal level. This includes getting to know their interests, hobbies and learning abilities. When I acquire this knowledge, I can relate to my students and make lessons and topics easier for them to learn through adjusting my lessons in a way that each student can individually understand. Like most people, I learned much better in classes where I felt I had a deeper relationship with my teacher which in turn motivated me to learn the tasks that they set out for me. This to me is very important.
