Information About Michael - Tipperary tutor

Personal Description:

A graduate of the University of Limerick with a 1.1 honours degree in Irish and PE.

Tutoring Experience:

I am currently teaching Irish at higher level to both Junior Cert and Leaving Cert classes. I have 9 years teaching experience of higher level to 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th years. I am an examiner for the Irish Oral Examinations 2019 - present. I have also corrected the written Leaving Cert higher level and ordinary level Irish exam 2023 - present.

Approach to Grinds:

- A focus on key topics appearing on higher level Junior Cert and Leaving Cert papers.

- Extensive and detailed notes with the key vocabulary needed for the essay section of Paper 1.

- Opportunities to gain proficiency and fluency for the Oral exam provided through preparation for the Sraith Pictiúir and the topics asked frequently in the Oral by examiners. Having previously acted as examiner for the oral exam, I will focus on preparing students as best as possible for this vital part of the exam.

- Detailed and extensive notes also provided on the key areas for answering questions on poems and stories in Paper 2.

- Grinds are done through the medium of Irish.
