Information About Lucy - Croom tutor

Personal Description:

Dia dhaoibh :) My name is Lucy and I am currently in my third year of college. I am studying Gaeilge and Home Economics. I have always been interested in these subjects and have been a keen baker since I was young. I went to secondary school in a Gaelcholáiste and this was where I really fell in love with the Irish language. I want to show people that there is more to Irish than what is generally taught in schools and this is reflected in my lessons and teaching style.
I scored a H1 in my Irish Leaving Cert exam and a H2 in my Home economics exam.

Tutoring Experience:

I have completed two graded school placements in college so far, both of these I have achieved H1 grades in. My first placement was in a Gaelcholáiste in Cork where I taught Home economics and Gaeilge through Irish for a month. My second placement was in Limerick in a school that has many foreign national students, so I am comfortable in working with people who might not have grown up speaking English as a first language. Due to Covid, some of this placement was online so I am comfortable and capable of adapting lessons and working online via Zoom.

Approach to Grinds:

I approach my grinds with a friendly face and a willingness to work with whoever I am with. I work hard but I will work to the capability of the student and help them to achieve their highest potential, whether that be a H1 and exam ready or to become more comfortable with spoken/written Irish or so on.
