Information About Jacinta - Carrigaline tutor

Personal Description:

I am a highly skilled and experienced Primary school teacher. I love languages and reading. I am very passionate about language, reading and writing development and have a special interest in synthetic phonics. I speak Spanish, Gaeilge and German and am learning Italian. I am active and fun-loving patient and kind.

Tutoring Experience:

Much of my experience has been with EAL (English as an alternative langauge). I have taught primary school classes all subjects (except Music) using the CLIL (content language integrated learning) approach, which is basically teaching subject specific content in English, while also teaching Language specific objectives.

I also have experience teaching children with special educational needs (SEN), behaviour, ASD, hyperactivity or suffering from trauma or anxiety. Of the hundreds of children I have taught each one has taught me something really special.

Approach to Grinds:

My teaching style is flexible and facilitating, whilst having clear boundaries, creative but organised and predictable. I belief that education is about the whole child and that each child learns at their own pace and in their own individual way. Therefore, I would tailor my teaching style and learning objectives to the individual needs of your child to ensure that he/she reaches his/her maximum potential, whilst maintaining high expectations.
