Information About Fionnuala - Enfield tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Fionnuala:
I have 8 years experience teaching Secondary Level. I have taught in a private school in Dubai for 3 years which was one of the leading academic schools for GCSE and A-level scores. In Ireland I am currently teaching in a new school in Dublin which incorporates iPads. I have been there for the last 3 years. I have set up the Maths and Science departments there. I have also taught HL Biology since I qualified along with HL Chemistry. I have experience teaching OL Maths Senior Cycle for one year as well as 4 years experience teaching Project Maths Junior Cycle both at OL and HL.
I have 2-3 years experience doing grinds in Julie Kilmartins Educational Services in Limerick and Ennis. I taught Biology HL to groups of 15 students for 6 hours a day over a 4 day period. The grinds were intensive and incorporated delivery of concise notes and production of a booklet of notes that the students could take home.
Approach to Grinds:
My approach is to deliver the course (or whatever is required by the student to focus on) in a simple and concise format. I am thorough in delivering what is required for the exam. Any concept or mechanism not understood by a student, I break it down into small manageable steps using notes, schematics, diagrams, visuals on an iPad etc. I am very exam focused and always end the session by completing a set of exam questions on the specific topic. It is then corrected and more questions are given as a task to complete for the following week and corrected. In terms of Biology, I use visuals and a lot of schematics to break down an otherwise very big course. For the new Junior Cycle Science I have experience in this field as I have taught Key Stage 3 Science (British Curriculum) which incorporates many of the elements that have been introduced in the new Junior Cycle Science so I am very familiar with the style of questioning proposed in the exam.
