Personal Description:
My undergraduate study was initially in Hons BSc Pharmacy for three years. After this, I completed by Hons BA in International Relations, completed my Masters degree in Public Health and a Masters degree in Biomedical Diagnostics. I have worked at a health surveillance centre for infectious disease and my varied backgrounds mean I have had exposure to a wide variety of subject matter and developed a number of research, presentation, writing and study skills. I am confident that both my approach to teaching and my background make me especially qualified to tutor in a supportive and effective manor. I am currently a final year medical student in RCSI with research experience in microbiology and know that my exposure to both science and arts background will allow me to really engage with a wide spectrum of students.
I am a cardiac first responder with St. John Ambulance, an adult in charge of a cadet division overseeing the training of 30 11-17 year olds and volunteer with Children in Hospital Ireland and a play facilitator in Temple Street Children's Hospital. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and can make even the most seemingly impossible subject material easy to learn.
Tutoring Experience:
***COVID-19 update***
As the situation with COVID-19 continues to develop, in person grinds can be facilitated as long as it is safe to do so. I am happy to facilitate grinds or essay editing using digital platforms if that would be preferable to students. Students interested in leaving certificate grinds can be facilitated online, with larger discounts given to 2+ students for 2 hour sessions (€30 per student for 2 hours) and personalised notes will be provided afterwards.
Students wishing to avail of proof reading or essay/dissertation/thesis reviews and editing, please feel free to enquire about these fees and turn around times. This is one of my most sought after services and given the circumstances, allowances will be made to reduce costs to the student where possible. ESSAYS WILL NOT BE WRITTEN FOR THE STUDENT.
I have taught the St. John Ambulance cadets for 6 years, focusing on first aid skills, patient management, coping with stress and biology subject matter (composition of blood, human anatomy, physiology, disease/illness identification and treatment among others). This is done in both one to one training sessions and group sessions. I am comfortable and capable of teaching both individuals and groups any required material. In cases of group grinds, a discount is applied so please feel free to enquire if this is something that you are interested in.
Throughout my Masters, I was a tutor to the first year undergraduate/graduate medicine degree program for the purposes of a research project and presentation seminar. This position was voluntary and for a period of 6 weeks.
I have given both one on one and group grinds for the past 5 years in science, GAMSAT/HPAT prep and writing sessions with students ranging from primary to masters level. Additionally I have ample experience in helping students with academic writing, proof reading and copy editing large projects at both undergraduate and postgradua**Contact Detail Removed**vels and provide very quick turn around on this type of work.
As I have experience working with large groups, I am more than comfortable with giving group grinds at all levels and a discount will be applied for groups.
Approach to Grinds:
No person is unteachable. I have met people from various backgrounds, different learning speeds and abilities to grasp certain subject matter and they all have different strengths. It is identifying and utilising these strengths that can be the most successful when trying to teach material that those being tutored may be most uncomfortable with. Whether a person responds to visual information or a paragraph of written text, applying the information in a context that they can relate to is what I have found to be most effective. Making the subject matter exciting and applying it to an example from everyday life helps to retain the information and makes learning more fun for the students.

Thank you so much for the feedback. You are a truly outstanding student!
(Also a great person to talk to if you're considering doing a masters or going into medicine!!)
I would highly recommend her for any students. Having her as a teacher was a blessing! I wish her all the best.
