Personal Description:

I am an enthusiastic French and English teacher who is currently working in a school in Navan, teaching all years, Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate French students.

I graduated from St Patrick's College Drumcondra In 2014, with a 2.1 degree in an International Humanities degree (in French and English). I have lived in France for over 4 years and return regularly to upkeep my French.

I completed a Masters of Education in Trinity College Dublin, majoring in French, in 2018.

Tutoring Experience:

I am currently working in an all girls school, working with all years and ages primarily teaching French. I have been giving grinds to various ages for over seven years. I have also worked with French children teaching them English. I have worked extensively with leaving certificate students preparing them for their upcoming examinations.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to grinds depends on the year and focus of the student.

Typically with junior cycle students, there is a focus on oral communication, grammar points and vocab learning but done through fun activities and tasks.

For senior cycle and more exam focused years, there is a focus on teaching towards the exam but also ensure oral confidence and communication throughout the lesson.

The majority of my grinds are done through the target language, but simplified and broken down for different abilities. The focus will be student driven and centred.
