Information About Eimear - Dublin tutor - (10 reviews)
This is how 2 referees rated Eimear:
I am a qualified 28 year old data scientist.
I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Statistics from University College Dublin in 2015, where I was an entrance scholar in the Science department.
As part of my course I studied Maths, Applied Maths, Computer Science and Statistics, choosing to major in Statistics in my final two years of college.
I am offering grinds in Junior Certificate Maths (both Honours and Ordinary level) and in Leaving Certificate Maths (both Honours and Ordinary level).
Although I did my Leaving Cert before Project Maths was introduced I have been tutoring students over the past two years
I give grinds regularly at all levels over the past 9 years and am currently filling up my Autumn schedule.
Approach to Grinds:
The way I approach grinds is first to assess the student's needs and what are the key areas which the student feels they need to focus on. Using a mixture of worked examples and problems I believe that is one the best ways to understand the material. I am also of the opinion that completing as many exam papers as possible is the best way to learn any subject as questions are often repeated or reworded from previous years in both the LC and JC. Completing exam papers also allows students to become familiar with the style of exam questions.
I offer grinds in person in the Dublin area and as a result of coronavirus lots of my students have opted for online grinds.
As this is slightly different to one-to-one maths grinds my approach is as follows:
1) 30 min free consultation where you tell me your needs and we will decide together the topics to cover.
2) During the lesson I will have a camera on my page as I write out examples.
3) I will create a google drive with notes, examples and solutions from each grind so that you have them for future access.
I like to give students useful strategies that can improve time management and enable them to maximise their time efficiently in an exam.
Ultimately I use a flexible approach as no two students are the same and different methods of teaching can work for different students.

This is not a reflection on Eimear as I chose her to begin with based on her great reviews so I'm sure she's an excellent tutor, just unfortunately the home tuition grant application is extremely strict on the criteria required.
