Personal Description:

I am a 31 year old graduate of Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies, finishing with a 2.1 from DCU in 2015. I am currently studying a masters in Creative Writing at DCU. I spent two years teaching English in Spain where I obtained my TEFL qualification and have been tutoring secondary school students in French and Spanish here in Ireland for many years. I love learning languages myself so I would love to be able to help you too!

Tutoring Experience:

I spent some time living in Barcelona teaching English to people of all ages, from 3 years old right up to those in their 50s. I taught in both one to one and school based settings so I can adapt easily to suit the target audience. I have also many years experience tutoring in French and Spanish here in Ireland.

Approach to Grinds:

As I have been a language learner myself, I understand the difficulties that can arise for students. I try to make my lessons as relatable as possible so that students can have a more enjoyable learning experience. I am enthusiastic about teaching languages and try to focus on all aspects of language aquisition; oral skills, writing skills, grammar and comprehension so that students get the most out of each lesson. I provide lessons online using platforms such as google classroom/zoom etc using the screen sharing tool of these applications as this allows me to offer more time slots and to use our time efficiently, students will also be sent any material we have covered so that they have access to it at all times and will receive a recording of the lesson so that they can look back at it if needed!
