Personal Description:

English Leaving / Junior Cert Grinds ONLINE only! I also edit/review college applications (eg. personal statements, scholarship applications etc.)

I have worked with over 15 students and generally each jumped a minimum of two grades from when they started with me. For example, one student began with a H4 and achieved a H1 in English in their LC Exam.

I'm currently a PhD candidate at a Top 10 US university. I hold a First Class Hons. BA and a Gold Medal for outstanding academic merit in Drama and Theatre Studies from Trinity College Dublin. I received an A1 (96%) in Leaving Cert English (Higher Level) in 2013.

Approach to Grinds:

Every student is different and it's important to me to tailor my approach to their needs. This might include working with images for students who are visually responsive, or creating notes in formulaic ways for students who think in that manner.

My number one rule is to know why you're studying English and to understand the course material thoroughly - this way my students achieve personal and unique answers which set them apart from the rest of the class. I like each student to bring their own ideas and interpretations to the table to avoid reproducing 'textbook' answers that blend into the examiner's pile.
