Information About Catherine - Athboy tutor
This is how 3 referees rated Catherine:
I am passionate about learning, both my own and that of my students. I enjoy inspiring my learners to realise their potential. I recognise the fundamental importance of the formative years and relish the opportunity to encourage the development of young learners.
I have been lucky to teach primary school children for twenty-five years.
I have taught the full range of subjects to a wide age-range beginning in England, then New Zealand and now Ireland.
I have also worked as a maths consultant for primary schools, working with students, teachers, principals and parents to help students develop a love of the subject from an early age. I recently completed a postgraduate certificate in digital and collaborative learning in which I focussed on the development of numeracy in primary school children.
Since relocating to Ireland, I have been working as a resource teacher in a primary school.
Approach to Grinds:
I believe all learning, whether in school, grinds, for young or the not so young, should be enjoyable. I will balance the activities in order to both support and challenge the learner. All learning needs to be child-led, coupled with a structured and organised approach in order to achieve the goals set.
