I'm 25 years old and am currently employed as a graduate engineer. In 2016 I completed a masters in Structural engineering in UCD, graduating 1st in my class. I completed my Degree in Engineering with first class honours achieving A grades in Calculus, Probability and Linear Algebra in college. I achieved 540 points in Leaving certificate. I am available Tuesday and Thursday evenings and am flexible on location.
I have a wide range of experience in maths tutoring. Over the past 2 years I have tutored across a range of levels, with 3 students at Junior Certificate and 2 at Leaving Certificate Level.
Approach to Grinds:
I believe the approach to grinds should be adapted depending on the student, however generally speaking;
At secondary school level my approach involves working through past papers from an early stage, and setting other worked examples. Students will be given the opportunity to ask questions based on areas of classwork they are struggling with. A key focus is to provide an understanding of main principles, before focusing in on the more difficult questions, providing helpful exam tips.
At a primary school level, classes will be more interactive but still with a focus on understanding the essentials, and depending on the students level, some work ahead of current class work can be done.
I have given some grinds at college level, however these have been course specific to Structural/Civil Engineering
