Information About Arun - Leixlip tutor

Personal Description:

I've lived in Lucan for 16 years and went to school myself in Leixlip. I am very passionate about history and religious studies and this was the deciding factor in pursuing a career in which I could have a positive influence on the students who sit in my classroom.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience teaching Junior and Senior Cycle History and Religious Education for the past 3 years since enrolling in Dublin City University in a post primary teaching degree. Concluding studies in May 2020. I have taught in Confey Community College Leixlip, Scoil Naomh Bríd Celbridge, Adamstown Community College and will be teaching in St Wolstans Community School in Celbridge from August 2019 to April 2020.

Approach to Grinds:

Educating is a privelaged role in the educational process. Education is a partnership in learning which should involve the students, parents and school staff. My aim is for students to learn without the burden of classroom restrictions such as the strained student - teacher ratio. It is most desirable for students to enjoy grinds sessions and to feel that they are making positive progress as this will boost their confidence and develop a greater interest in their subject which is not always possible in the results driven education system Ireland possesses. Steady work with regular formative and summative assessments is a crucial method of improving on results.
