I have a MSc in Psychology, and have worked in various roles related to this field, including educational settings with children with special needs. I have always been fascinated with human behaviour and why we do what we do. In recent years in particular, I have developed a keen interest in how and why we learn, the different learning styles, as well as the thinking patterns, habits, and tools that can help us to do this to the best of our abilities.
I am an enthusiastic individual with a passion for learning, as well as teaching. I look forward to using my skills and knowledge to help others achieve their true potential.
I recently tutored A Level Psychology, and also helped a student with thesis preparation for their degree in psychology. I have some more casual experience tutoring the Irish language (Gaeilge).
Approach to Grinds:
As we are all unique individuals, I believe the way in which we learn, process and perceive information is individual to us too. Therefore, I tend to ask students/clients in advance for information on where they are currently at with the topic at hand, what do they like about it, what do they find challenging, what do they hope to achieve, as well as what way they prefer to learn (visually, practically, etc.). This helps with preparation for tutoring sessions, and ensures the student gets the best out of each session.
I prefer to work one-on-one, in a public/neutral setting (i.e. a **Contact Detail Removed** or a cafe), as I feel that's a comfortable setting for both the student and tutor.
