Information About Aoife - Dungarvan tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Aoife:
I am a primary school teacher who recently moved back to Ireland from Scotland where I had spent 3 years. I completed my PGDE in Primary Education at the University of Glasgow and I then spent two years teaching in a permanent position. Teaching is my passion and I am dedicated to helping children succeed through their holistic development. I have the skills to help your child reach their full potential, I aim to build their confidence and give them the skills to face academic challenges.
I completed my PGDE in Primary Education in 2014 and I then went on to teach for two years. I also did tutoring for children outside of school hours. I got the opportunity to teach a diverse range of abilities including those with additional support needs and those who required extra challenge. I worked closely with children with behavioural difficulties, autism and aspergers. I devised my own targets and plans to help each individual child reach their full potential, not just academically but their holistic development. It is important to me that children play a part in their own learning and take responsibility for their own learning. I will use strategies to keep a learner engaged while building on their knowledge in line with the syllabus.
Approach to Grinds:
My main aim is to motivate students to do their best and extend their own personal limits, reaching outside their comfort zone. The first thing I like to do is meet with the parents/carers in order to get a bit more information about the child and their needs, this is a free session where I aim to get an idea of what the parents/carers want the child to work on and their aspirations. I then devise plans based on the individual needs of that child. I provide regular updates to parents/carers and offer my advice on next steps. The child will have a very short piece of work to do for following session as I feel it is important for parents/carers to play a part in their child's learning.
I am willing to show any documentation if required.
