Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Andrea, and I am a recent neuroscience graduate from Trinity College Dublin. I studied 7 subjects at my LC, all at higher level, and received 590 points: I received A1s in Irish, music, and chemistry. For my JC, I received 8As and 2Bs. In the coming years, I wish to apply to the graduate entry veterinary medicine programme at UCD.

My interests are physiology, neuropharmacology, all things animals, photography, music (grade 8 violin, teaching myself guitar and a bit of piano), and of course teaching!

Tutoring Experience:

I have been a corrector for 5th year music exams at the Institute of Education, and published exam advice article with the Irish Times, after my Leaving Cert.

Approach to Grinds:

My guide is: if you can teach it to someone, you know it!

1. I can help by clearly and slowly explaining the topic of each lesson (which can be arranged prior to the lesson, or can be introduced impromptu) - I encourage the student to send in questions beforehand, to add to achieving the key outcomes of the lesson.
2. There will also be a focus on tackling exam questions - how marking schemes work, what exactly is the examiner looking for in answers etc.
3. As well as working on exam questions from past papers etc… I can provide my own resources, as an aide to learning the contents of each lesson as homework
3. I will also provide any advice I have learnt about studying throughout my education ie. making timetables, particular study methods for different learning styles, how to find your study style

The general structure of a lesson is as follows:
1. Begin by answering any questions from previous lesson, and correct homework assigned previously
2. Introduce new topic
3. Assign homework for current lesson, to be completed by the next lesson
