Personal Description:

I am a 23 year old analyst for Ernst and Young, working on their Valuations and Modelling team. Recently graduated from Economics and Finance in UCD. I am originally from Galway where I attended an all girls secondary school and was awarded the second best in my year points wise (595). I received 3 A1's : Maths, Physics and Chemistry and, 3 A2's: Accounting, Applied Maths and Irish.
I am also a recipient of the UCD entrance scholarship award based on academic excellence.
I an empathetic and understanding with the struggles people can have. It is my opinion that there is nothing you do not have the capacity to understand, teaching methods just need to be tailored to individual students - everybody has the capability as long as the patience is there!

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience across University and Secondary level of teaching. In my previous role as tutor, I have helped failing students achieve exemplary results. My previous experiences were with Higher & Ordinary level Math grinds for Leaving Cert and Junior Cert, as well as university level Economics grinds.

I was elected as a peer mentor for a group of 7 in second year of college, where I assisted in their work and guidance.
I was an assistant swim coach between the age of 15 and 18 and learnt valuable communication skills.

Approach to Grinds:

In my opinion preparation is key for the teacher. Following a structured plan in the least overwhelming way possible for the student. Building on what is being completed and not grasped by the student in class, so that they can continue to keep up with both homework simultaneously.
Forming relationships and a connection with my students has worked in the past, to avoid the feeling of being in school again for an extra hour.
