Personal Description:

I am post-primary Geography, CSPE and Music teacher. I am an enthusiastic teacher who is involved in a range of extracurricular activities in and out of the school environment. I have an excellent record of results for the past 6 years and student feedback to my approach to teaching is always positive.

Tutoring Experience:

I have 6 years teaching experience in Geography and Business studies in the UK. I currently teach Geography and CSPE full time in a mixed comprehensive school in Dublin. In my time in the UK I was the head of the geography department and acting head of the humanities department. As outlined my speciality is teaching exam year classes and my record of outstanding exam results is something I hold great pride in.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to grinds may vary on learner type, ability and areas of focus. When focusing on exam practice I break down the exam board expectations, plan and prepare longer style questions and consistently practice with my student until they feel confident with all exam question types. With content, I review areas of strength and weakness and focus on areas of confusion. I have a vast amount of notes, mind maps, powerpoints, video clips and tips that I share with my students. I set weekly work to be completed and reviewed in the next session as well as weekly knowledge short tests to review knowledge.
