Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Aaliyah and I have a passion for learning and teaching. I am a graduate of B.Eng. Structural Engineering in TU Dublin Bolton St. I am registered with the Teaching Council where I am assessed to have appropriate qualification for teaching Secondary School Maths and Engineering.

I have been providing grinds since 2016. I take pleasure in giving my best in each session prioritising the student’s comfort and understanding. As my classes are only offered online, I have dedicated to use a writing tablet, appropriate applications, and alot of digital resources. I always try to put emphasis in algebra as I believe they are the core of the course. As they say, maths is just a matter of manipulation!

Tutoring Experience:

My family owns a primary school in the Philippines and I love spending time in there! I was able to substitute in few classes when a teacher is not present.
I also taught in a STEM camp from ages 5-12 during Easter.

I was an employee of ALOHA ireland which teaches kids mental arithmetic using fun games and the abacus.

When it comes to tutoring , I love teaching my cousins, friends and brother as I have a burning passion to teach! I have had students that I taught every weekends and their unfailing willingness to improve is what makes it all worth it.

Approach to Grinds:

Since I teach Maths, I think the best way to go is to do examples! A coherent way of answering a question step by step is the way to go. Notes in how to do each question in a specific manner all the time allow students to be able to tackle maths question more efficiently. Of course, knowing the application of each is also important but this is just briefly so that the person who is learning will understand its significance instead of it being just a mere equation.
