Information About Robyn - Bray tutor

Personal Description:

I recently graduated from Maynooth University with a 2.1 honours degree in Biomedical Science. Since I was younger my main aim was to study and work in the biological field. I worked extremely hard during my leaving certificate earning an A2 grade in higher level biology. I have also studied both math and chemistry during my four years in Maynooth.

I am happy to give 1 to 1 tutoring in addition to small group tutoring (1-3 people). I offer discounts for multiple student sessions.

Tutoring Experience:

Over the last 5 years I have provided grinds and assistance to many students who were finding biology difficult in both junior certificate and the leaving certificate. I have always had an interest in teaching and interacting with young children and young adults. I have worked in teaching and instructing science camps during the last two summers for Junior Einsteins Science club creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere while learning science. I have also worked with and taught children as a camp counsellor in New York during the summer of 2015.

I now work as a full time education support worker in Maynooth University offering my assistance to students with physical and intellectual learning disabilities.

Approach to Grinds:

I tend to approach grinds with a very friendly and open environment. I start from scratch with an evaluation of where the student is currently at in regards to there confidence in certain areas in biology course. We establish what we find difficult and what the student finds comfortable. From here we then create a timeline of what we will cover over the course of the upcoming weeks. I provide printed and easy to read notes every session.

I try to ensure that all my notes aim at every learning ability as I understand that some students prefer visuals (diagrams etc.) in comparison to other students who rather structure to the notes. I can tailor all tutorials to the individual's specific needs.
