Information About Patrick - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

My name is Paddy. I'm 30 and I'm currently a full time maths teacher in Dublin, living in Monaghan. I teach maths to LC HL and also qualified to teach Science & Biology to LC HL.

I repeated to leaving certificate myself because I never got my first choice on the first go, and with a bit more hard work, I managed it the second time round.

I'm fairly easygoing and engaging and I like to be able to make conversation with people. I think it's my sociable nature that can give me and edge as a teacher, as I can develop a good rapport and make things more interesting for the students.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for 7 years now, with multiple schools and areas under my belt. I currently teach maths full time in Dublin. I’m also qualified to teach biology and science. I have also taught LC HL geography and agricultural science.
Previously I have taught in primary schools also, so I am aware of the links that must be made between the way that subjects are taught in primary school and secondary.
Having taught in three schools over the last 4 years, I have been able to gain invaluable experience in teaching.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to offering grinds are that it is up to the student themselves as to what they are struggling with/want to cover. When I know the areas that the student feels they need improvement on then I will be able to cater to this through use of diagrams, approachable and hands on demonstrations and innovative techniques in order to link parts of the course to each other so that they are more easily understood and remembered.
