Personal Description:

Hello! I am a qualified Maths Teacher from the West of Ireland and am currently living in Newry. I have 5+ years experience in Teaching Maths Grinds, specifically Leaving Cert Higher Level. I have always loved Maths and I enjoy teaching it too. I am very friendly and approachable. I enjoy building a friendly rapport with my students and watching them progress & succeed throughout the school year.

Tutoring Experience:

I hold a 1st Class Honours in Mathematics and Education from NUIG. I have previously taught in a Microsoft Showcase School in the West of Ireland in which technology was utilised to enrich the teaching and learning experience. Hence, I have ample experience maximising the potential of technology. I have previously taught both 5th and 6th Year Higher Level classes in which students received high grades in their Leaving Certificate results.

Approach to Grinds:

Leaving Cert Higher Level students preferred. Students are grouped into small groups of 3-4ppl of similar ability. I have wrote high standard notes which I provide copies of to all students. Students will also be given access to a shared drive where they can access further material. Homework will be given between sessions to ensure student is grasping concepts. I take on a limited number of students each year so I can give my full attention to each student. I take a holistic view in how I approach my teachings in that I take my student’s confidence and wellbeing into consideration also. I believe it’s important to instil a positive attitude which complements the subject matter and therefore increases grades.
