Information About Carol - Rosslare tutor

Personal Description:

I have a BA in English and History
PG Diploma in teaching in Further Education
Level 6 cert in Literacy training
I have worked in Accounts and Business for fifteen years prior to my going back to education. I have four young adult children who all went to college and are successfully employed.

Tutoring Experience:

I taught Grinds in English for most of 2018/19, and I presently work in home schooling a SC student in English, History and Business. I also have some SC students to whom I give grinds.
I set up a Craft group in my local area six years ago, where young and old learned Knitting, Crochet and other handicrafts. I am pleased that this group is still vibrant and growing. I also taught Dressmaking skills during the autumn which was popular.
As part of my hDip I taught in two further education settings for 100+ hours. While there taught QQI Level 4 Business English, QQI Level 4 Historical studies and QQI Level 4 Business Calculus.

Approach to Grinds:

I am delighted with the present students progress and those who have done exams performed very well.
I loved the teaching practice and found that I developed a good working relationship with all types of learners. Working with relatively small groups is very rewarding because both tutor and learner work together to a common goal, my focus is to help them to build on what they already know and fully understand what is required for them to achieve their goals.
