Personal Description:
I'm 24 years old and currently work as a quantitative risk analyst in Amsterdam. I completed my MSc in Theoretical Physics in University of Amsterdam in 2023 and my BSc in Mathematics and Physics in University of Limerick in 2021.
Tutoring Experience:
I have given grinds in Junior and Leaving Certificate Mathematics and Physics since I started my BSc in 2017.
Approach to Grinds:
- Rather an understanding be given which can be applied to a large number of problems, than the usual rote learning style approach schools use, which tends to be boring.
- This implies firsy learning what the student struggles with, and using multiple approaches to explain fully what is going on if the standard approach was found confusing.
- Heavy emphasis on exam questions, tapering down "hints" as experience and knowledge of subject grows.
- Showing good exam techniques acquired from experience, and highlighting what to look for in questions to get as many marks as possible when a concept doesn't click in an exam.
