Information About Avril - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

Hi, I’m Avril and I’m currently in 6th year. I offer Primary School and Junior Certificate German grinds and Primary School Maths grinds.

I am half German and I grew up in a German speaking household so my level of German fluency is high. I also take German as a subject in school so I know the mechanics and grammar to a high level as well. I also achieved an A in Junior Cert German.

I take higher level Maths in the Leaving Cert and I have a very good understanding on the primary school Maths course as I thoroughly enjoyed it and achieved good grades. I would hope to help students to understand the subject better and to help them like it as I know it is a subject many people dread.

Tutoring Experience:

In primary school I was chosen to be an assistant to the teacher because the children took a liking to me and I also work well with children. I also did Techsperts where I taught elderly people on how to use technology in Transition Year. I love working with children and I have a very young brother(3) and sister(1) so I have a lot of experience around children and the most efficient way of teaching.

Approach to Grinds:

Patience, make the pupil feel at ease, friendliness, kindness and to make sure the student understands the topic to the fullest extent. I will make good quality notes for the students and also share any notes that I have made in the past (I also have many useful notes that I have taken during 5th and 6th year). I will have a copy of the exam papers for Junior Certificate German, so we can take a look at the exam as well as learning the beautiful language itself. For primary students I would like to take a fun approach as I know German and especially Maths can be a dreaded and challenging subject for students, so my aim will be to teach it in a fun way so that they can enjoy the subject as well as bettering their knowledge in it.
