Personal Description:

I have been living and working in Germany for 3 years. Fluent in German and with a 1:1 Honours Bachelors Degree in German, Finance, and Economics from Maynooth University.

Tutoring Experience:

I spent a year teaching in a German Gymnasium, working with students aged 10-18.

I have taught German Grinds for the past 5 years and have had significant success with improving my students grades.

Approach to Grinds:

Learning German in school should not be only learning lists of vocab. I use many useful and interesting resources to teach topics and themes. Interesting resources such as modern music, Netflix, and YouTube are underutilized by secondary school teachers in Ireland but are a fantastic means to easily and effectively teach vocabulary to both teenagers and adults alike.

I have a great grasp of how to teach grammar, having had to learn German myself. As I am not a native German speaker, I know where people fall down or get confused and how to better explain these complex topics.

Finally, one of the most important parts of learning for exams is learning how to actually take the exam. What the examiner is looking for, what exactly you are being asked, how long your answers should be, how to time your exam etc. I can provide you with a strategy as to how to tackle the exam and showcase the German that you already know.
