Personal Description:

I am currently in the fourth year of my Honors Bachelor degree in Sciences Majoring in Paleontology and Criminology at the University of Toronto at the Mississauga location. When I'm not in class or working I am quite a fan of sports, particular American Football and Basketball. I enjoy watching the games with my two cats whom I love to take care of. I am also what you could consider a nerd and spend a good part of my time in within internet culture or gaming when I have the chance to. Due to the unique situation I have taken for myself I have a wide variety of skills that will prove to be invaluable in helping who may need it. Of these include my specialty of geology as well as biologic concepts common in lower years of learning. I am also quite familiar with Sociological concept's and their application in theory. Additionally I have quite a lot of experience in writing both scientific papers and ling form essays and would be an asset for helping with these as well.

Tutoring Experience:

Prior to the start of my University education I would volunteer as a coach for youth rec league football, and do so for 3 straight summers. This helped me to develop teaching skills that I carry with me to this day. I also like to help people with their academic learning just in generally. In most of my classes I find myself taking on a teaching role with other students I am with because I enjoy helping them to succeed.

Tutoring Approach:

I think the best way to approach any type of learning experience is to first understand how to best communicate ideas to those you would be teaching. Sometimes it may require more one on one explanations while for others simply showing the processes can help to lead them in the right direction. My approach also focuses on leading towards the right answers rather then actually stating what they might be. Its easy enough to simply copy what others have told you but I have found that actually doing the work for yourself is what actually leads to learning something.
