Tutoring Experience:

1. Teaching assistant at Peking University
2. Tutored a senior high school student of Canadian International School of Beijing and improved the biology performance from D to B-.
3. Tutored two undergraduate students’ Bachelor thesis.

Tutoring Approach:

Slicing a big/hard question to several simple pieces makes it easy to understand and solve. Once you could understand, try to remember it through very effective reciting methods, called Ebbinghaus Curve and Leitner system. The final goal is turning the thick textbook to a very thin one. I would like to encourage my students and adjust my strategy depending on which learning method works best for the students (such as hands-on learning, visual learning, auditory learning, etc.). Prior to our class, I need to know tutee’s subject of interest and current academic performance. I will carefully plan the course goal and content with tutee and continuously revise it after evaluating student learning in assignments/quizzes/exams.
