Personal Description:

Hi everyone, I am from Ontario, Canada and have been living in Whistler for the last year. I work in Whistler and do a regular 9-5 from Monday to Friday. I have completed my Bachelors in Social Sciences and a Master's in Sciences, both at well sought after universities in Canada. Throughout my work and educational experiences, I have gained insightful skills. I am proficient in teaching sciences, math, and English (ESL included, as I had to teach myself English as a young child moving to Canada). I have great communication, written and scientific/analytical skills that can help your kids in their learning. I recognize every child has different learning style; therefore, I always take the best approach/style to teach lessons.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been a Teaching Assistant in my undergraduate and graduate studies, teaching young adults from the ages of 18 - 23. I have been a TA for diverse social sciences and science classes, including history, politics, and sciences and methodologies.

I have also worked with people with disabilities and people of diverse backgrounds in undergrad, and have the knowledge and culturally sensitive knowledge to approach work.

Tutoring Approach:

- Learn how the child/adult learns
- Identify their strengths and weaknesses in their lessons and learning styles
- Give hands on experiences, and real-world experiences (e.g… adapt the lesson to the real world to make it more applicable).
- Be available to the child/adult
- Create lesson plans that are measurable and can be referred back.
- Provide examples ! It is always great to provide examples of work and lessons so the child understands the objective and goal of the study lessons.
- Low to high intensity = always start with the basics and build up and always connect back to the main themes (especially in writing styles and sciencs)
