As a passionate and dedicated Canadian instructor and tutor, I have been teaching the English language mainly focusing on speaking fluency since 2004, both overseas in countries such as South Korea, Japan, and Chile, and also in Canada's LINC program. I have also worked with English learners from around the world via international online schools as well as in-person private sessions locally.
I have helped hundreds of learners improve their English grammar, speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation, and conversation skills and also helped to expand my students' everyday English vocabulary with phrasal verbs and idioms.
As a result of my guidance and tuition, my students have also significantly increased their confidence when communicating in English and been able to reach their personal and professional goals.
In the past, I have helped language learners reach their necessary scores on the TOEFL and TOEIC exams and more recently, I have become more involved in helping my students improve both their language skills and their test-taking abilities in IELTS Speaking and Writing or CELPIP Speaking.
In addition, I have enjoyed boosting the English skills and grades of international students who are attending high school in Canada and are planning to attend a Canadian college or university.
I am very confident that I can help you improve your English language skills in any particular area, but especially speaking so that you can reach your own personal and/or professional communicative goals faster. I am available as an in-person or online tutor and currently prefer to teach adults or teens. I am looking forward to meeting and helping you!
I feel that it is very important to get to know each of my students and his or her personal and/or professional or educational goals, in addition to identifying and understanding what strengths and challenges the student has with the English language or living, studying, and/or working in Canada. This allows me to create a completely personalized learning plan for every student that requests my help.
I am very patient, cross-culturally aware, and sensitive to the challenges of living in a new country and culture, having done so myself several times. I can help you successfully study or live in Canada, too!
I will cater my lessons according to your specific needs and preferences, as well as your learning style. I teach 'real world' language that is used regularly by Canadians in casual and/or professional and educational situations, as well as the framework of English grammar structures and correct usage.
I recommend and assign homework between sessions to solidify and confirm your understanding of what you have learned in each session, and to provide the opportunity for independent review and practice.
If you would like in-person sessions, before either you or I agree to work together, I recommend a 'meet and greet' to ensure that it is a good fit for both of us.
