Personal Description:

I am an experienced educator who is looking for a new way to help students pursue their academic goals after retiring as a classroom teacher. I get fulfilled when I see a student excel at something that I watched them struggle with during our sessions. I am comfortable working both in person and online.

Tutoring Experience:

I graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Life Science Secondary Education and later earned master's degrees in Biology and Education with a GPA of 3.85. I then taught for 28 years, covering courses such as grade 7-8 science. I have also helped middle school students prepare exams in biology and served as an interim instructor for biology and ecology.

Tutoring Approach:

I try to draw connections between what I'm teaching as a biology tutor and my student's interests outside academia. If the material is too abstract for that, I'll encourage my pupil to spot patterns or model how it works.
