Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Sasha, and I am a TEFL-certified tutor with five years of experience. As a patient and approachable educator with a passion for helping students reach their academic goals, I am looking forward to working with you! I work with students of all ages and I strive to create a safe and engaging learning environment. I believe that with active support, all students can learn and grow, and ultimately increase their academic potential and achievement.

Tutoring Experience:

2019: full-time English teacher at Gloria English School in Taoyuan, Taiwan, working with ESL students ages 5-18. Lessons were immersion-based and fun, using games to explore grammar, vocabulary, and phonics. Class size: 10-25 students.

2014-2018: one-on-one tutor for students ages 7-20, teaching English essay-writing skills, poetry, French (immersion-level), science, history, math, and geography.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that tutoring should be about support. My job is to build a strong foundation with students. Sometimes, we might focus on areas where students are struggling, going at a comfortable pace to give students the space they need to grow their understanding. Sometimes, students want extra learning time, perhaps in preparation for an important exam. In that case, we need to make sure that students feel challenged in their tutoring sessions, going above and beyond to build connections and give students the edge that they need. Whatever the case, it is important for me to work to a student's needs and meet them wherever they are in their academic journey.
