Personal Description:

I am a 4th-Year Undergraduate student at McMaster University studying Life Sciences. I have completed a variety of science and math related courses at McMaster University such as biology, psychology, chemistry, physics and calculus.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience teaching and peer mentoring 2nd-Year McMaster University students in the Life Sciences Laboratory Skill Development course. During this course, I had the opportunity to teach 35 students in both a lecture and laboratory setting. I was also a tutor at Kumon Math and Reading Centre where I tutored students from ages 6-16 in both math and reading.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach is catered to each student by recognizing their strengths and weaknesses regarding the subject matter. My learning philosophy focuses on active learning and engaging the student in the material for improved long-term memory. Through my tutoring approach, I will help the student create effective study habits and a strong skill set to succeed in their current courses, as well as for future learning. I am committed to ensuring the student's success in their courses and employing creative strategies to keep them engaged in their learning.
