I teach and study at the University of Waterloo, where I am completing my Doctorate on American literature and culture during and after World War II. I specialize in essay writing and literary analysis, and I can tutor students in high school and university.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in English from Trent University, and I expect to receive my Doctorate in English by the summer of 2019. I am currently a Graduate Instructor at the University of Waterloo, and I have been teaching online and in the classroom since 2012.
I have an extensive knowledge of 20th century American literature, and I can also assist students on a wide variety of other literary topics, including Shakespeare, poetry, Canadian Literature, film studies, and graphic novels. I have presented papers at several conferences and am a published poet.
I am also happy to help students with research, applying for programs and scholarships, and looking into their school’s services. I also do not charge for exchanging emails if you have immediate questions or concerns about your schoolwork.
Everybody learns differently, and everyone approaches a novel, film, or poem with different skills, interests, and backgrounds. When we begin tutoring, we’ll discuss your strengths and interests, and then create an outline of goals and learning objectives that will produce your best work and progress. I can also create lessons and handouts prior to our meetings free of charge.
