Personal Description:

I am an E.S.L. instructor by trade and have taught E.S.L. overseas and in Canada. I've instructed students in South Korea, Indonesia and India, as well as Canadian students.

I offer students a non-judgemental, low-stakes learning environment in which they are encouraged to learn at their own pace, choose risks, make mistakes as necessary, acquire skills and build confidence.

Tutoring Experience:

Tutoring experience includes work in the classroom, tutoring from home, doing field trips and engaging in extracurricular activities. I have past experience tutoring within a group environment, and excel at working one-on-one with students.

My subject matter largely being E.S.L… part of my instructing experience has included needs assessments, competency-based courses and course materials, casual sharing activities, and student-involved evaluation.

Lesson planning, progress reports and work portfolios have all been aspects of my job as an E.S.L. instructor.

Tutoring Approach:

In instructing activities, I use daily situations as a context to find words, idioms, phrases, and larger parts of speech to use in daily situations. These activities include making lists, making a set of instructions for someone to follow such as a recipe or directions to a tourist destination, writing a **Contact Detail Removed**vision commercial script, doing drills, doing writing assignments, and producing a finished work such as artwork or a collage. My style is based on clearly demonstrating what needs to be taught, and allowing students to achieve success based on the activity or exercise being incorporated.
