Personal Description:

I believe that the best way to remember something is to see how it relates to you. I like to try to relate the concepts that my students are learning to their real lives. I am a Japanese tutor with a plethora of experience in the language. I spent seven years in Japan, including one year in an all-Japanese-speaking office in Tokyo.

Tutoring Experience:

As an undergraduate student, I completed a bachelor's degree in the Japanese language and a bachelor's in government and international relations. After that, I earned a master's degree in Asian studies. I am currently working on a Ph.D. in Japanese history. I spent 17 years as an analyst as well.

Tutoring Approach:

At first, I get to know the student and their needs, so I ask them numerous questions to see where they stand academically and where they need help. Then, I create customized lesson plans based on those needs.
