Personal Description:

Hello! I am a female university student located in Corner Brook, NFLD. While it is my first year here, I completed the French Immersion program throughout grade school in Nova Scotia, and spent two years as an English and education major before making the transfer here.
Languages have always been a passion of mine. I have always excelled in reading, writing, and oral presentations, and strive to identify spelling and grammar mistakes in hopes of assisting students to learn how to correct them. Having studied English, I am confident in my abilities to assist any student with their materials, and having spoken French for 15 years I believe I can also provide assistance to grade-school level students in that discipline.
I’d be able to come prepared with work/ worksheets for areas troubling a student, or if help is needed with specific assignments I could work with them on that as well.

Tutoring Experience:

-Three university-level education courses
-One student-teacher practicum (completed October 2017)
-Four years of Taekwon-Do teaching experience, ages 5 to adult

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to take into account that each student is different. I will work hard to ensure I find the most effective methods of helping every individual student. I recognize unique abilities, learning styles, and strengths and weaknesses. I hope to help students improve on weaknesses, develop their strengths, and not just survive, but strive to do their best on any given task. I will take the time to work with a student to learn what works and doesn’t work for them when it comes to learning, and by doing this I will be prepared to work on a visual, auditory, or hands-on methods. I enjoy trying new things, and I know that I can adapt my knowledge and style to work with a student in the way most beneficial to them.
