Personal Description:

Hello!
My name is Lauren and I am a Health Science graduate from the University of Waterloo. I will be attending the University of Toronto for a Master's of Science in the fall. I am interested in tutoring science (grades 1-9) biology (grades 11-12) math (grades 1-8) and english (any age).
I love working with children and have experience doing so in a variety of roles. I have tutored many children over the years ranging from ages 8-17. I have also been providing child care for over eight years, I have volunteered in the children's hospital, volunteered at camps, ran peer mentor groups for high-school students, and I was a dance teacher for young children.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience tutoring grade 5 math and science, grade 7 math and science, grade 4 math, science and english, grade 12 biology, and adult english. As well as editing papers for a university student.

I also have experience working with children as a dance instructor, camp counsellor, and a peer mentor. As well as volunteering at the children hospital.

Tutoring Approach:

My older sister has ADHD and various learning disabilities. From a young age I was always helping her understand math and science related problems. Due to this experience I understand that people learn in different ways. Whether you child is a visual, auditory or kinestic learner, I will cater to their needs so that they can excel in their school work. I use a variety of resources when tutoring including (but not limited to),worksheets, homework help, online educational games, tests, whiteboard and markers. physical models and books.
