Currently, I am accepted new students for the 2019/2020 school year!
I am entering into my second year at the University of Toronto for life sciences. I hope to specialize in global health, immunology and contemporary Asian studies combining my passions of the biological sciences and the human sciences.
I graduated the IB diploma program in May 2018 with a grade of 39/45. I studied English language and literature, Spanish, biology, chemistry, math, and history.
I love canoeing, human biology and helping people! I volunteer with St. John Ambulance (a first aid organization), I canoe every summer and I have organized several events including a Terry Fox Run and a holiday fair raising money for female health issues.
I have been tutoring students for the past 3 years. I have tutored grade 9 math, science, geography and English, grade 10 math, science, English, and history and grade 11 functions. I also have taught the grade 11 math class MCR3U to an individual working on an online course. We used the online course as a basis for teaching but I acted as her teacher.
I also volunteered in my final year of high school to help in some of the grade nine applied classes, giving more one on one support to the students that were struggling.
I like to take a more practical approach focusing on practice questions. Typically, as we move through the practice questions and I notice an area of weakness, I will take more of a formal note with the student on this area and then do some more focused questions.
Oftentimes, we will do practice questions from their assigned homework so they have the opportunity to catch up and ask questions that they may not have the opportunity to ask the teacher. However, if the student is well caught up or wishes to try the homework on their own, I will always come with extra practice questions for us to work through.
For assignments, students can provide them to me ahead of time and I will proofread and make suggestions to improve it and then we can go through it together.

Apologies for the miscommunication today as to where tutoring will occur. In the future, I will always insure to double check whether libraries are open when a client has requested a change of time for when tutoring will occur. This was truly a mistake on my part.
For you to have the best success with a tutor in the future, I would recommend that you go to the pre planned location as a large portion of tutors also rely on public transportation in order to travel so it will take longer for them to reach the desired location. Additionally, if they use the subway, as I was, they are unable to receive texts or calls so they will not be able to plan for the change of location.
I truly hope that you are able to find a new tutor and if you would like to give me another try, I would be more than happy to. This is the first time that this has happened with me and I will take your feedback to help insure that this will not happen again.
Best of luck,
