Personal Description:

Hi, my name is L'Tanya and am a biology tutor who can explain concepts differently than they are in class, a textbook, or on the web. Teaching complex material is most successful, I believe, when it's taught based on how a student learns. I can help you with high school or college biology topics, including life sciences, microbiology, and nutrition.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a bachelor's degree in pre-medicine (biology) and a master's degree in educational leadership . Teaching at a community college, I notice large gaps in information even among bright students. I find providing real-life examples and an opportunity for students to think and process information for themselves helps with learning.

Tutoring Approach:

Believing every student has the potential to succeed, I use encouragement and motivation to help students make progress one step at a time. I'll apply pictures, analogies, animations, songs, and other tools when a student struggles to understand something.
