Hi! My name is Kyne and I'm a student at the University of Waterloo earning my Bachelor of Mathematics in Mathematical Finance. I am very familiar with the Ontario high school math curriculum as I graduated from high school in Kitchener.
I completed high school with a 97 average and grades of 100 in grade 12 Advanced Functions, AP Calculus, Data Management, and grade 11 Functions. I was given the Alma Mater student of the year award at my graduation and received a full scholarship to the University of Waterloo where I am now studying math full time.
Since high school, math has continued to be my favourite subject because of the rigour, the elegance, and the creativity. I hope to help my tutees see the beauty in math that I see.
I've tutored in after-school homework clubs as well as for private clients from as young as grade 3 to as old as grade 12. These days I tend to prefer tutoring high school math. It's a hobby I find very rewarding and personally enriching.
Many people find math a cold and rigid subject that is unwelcoming to newcomers, and that's partly the fault of our education system. While math does require memorization, it's also about creativity and communication, where I like to focus my attention. I tend to place higher importance on understanding concepts intuitively over merely memorizing the right answer.
