Personal Description:

As a math tutor, I can do more than just tutoring students for their math classes. I am also available to help students prepare for the Math sections of various standardized exams including the ACT and SAT. I can also help students prepare for the SAT Subject Tests in Math.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my bachelor's degree in General Biology with a minor in Anthropology. I scored a 34 on my ACT Math, 710 on my SAT Math, and I got the full 5 for both AP Calculus I and II. I have four years of experience tutoring students in all sorts of math subjects including algebra through college level and general math topics.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer my students verbal explanations, visual examples, and creative ways of remembering difficult information. I don't teach in a lecture style because I don't believe that fosters interest in a student, and a student who isn't interested is not learning. In addition to finding out where they are in math, I like to learn my new students' note-taking skills and study habits so I can also help with those.
