This is how 2 referees rated Joseph:
I am a 3rd year Computer Science student at the University of Toronto. I currently have a 3.5GPA(80%) in university and had a 95% average in high school. I excel at all Math and Computer Science subjects but I can tutor everything. I have been a tutee form grade four and currently am a tutor so I am very familiar with the teaching process. I'm patient, funny but professional when need be, caring and dedicated. Some of my hobbies are playing sports and going to my Christian youth fellowship.
I have experience teaching starting in high school, I was a peer-tutor and taught my fellow students twice a week in Calculus, Advanced Functions and Data Management. Starting in university I started(and still do) privately tutoring those subjects increasing some students marks up by 40%. I also worked full-time at my basketball coaches summer camp for 4 months, organizing schedules and teaching kids from grade 1-12 Math.
My approach to tutoring is one word, CONSISTENCY. I strongly believe that any student has the potential to be successful if they put in consistent time. Most problems with students is that they don't know HOW to study. Working every week, possibly twice a week with students will show them graded results, helping them become more motivated and confident in their work. Doing so will show them that yes, they do have the ability to learn anything if they put the time into it.
