Personal Description:

My name is Jina, an ambitious student currently in fourth year of the Bachelor of Sciences bilingual program, at the University of Alberta’s, Campus St. Jean. I consider myself a dedicated community volunteer and prospectively postulating to Medical school.
Outside of my professional side, I often like to talk about my interests because I find that my interests and my hobbies complete my professional and academic side. Music is a huge part of my personal identity. Through piano, I acquired skills that have had many applications in my daily life such as perseverance, discipline, emotional intelligence, coordination and many other skills. I also like to travel; traveling has been a huge part of my life. I had the opportunity to visit 15 different countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America. Traveling gave me the opportunity to discover the world, to be exposed to new cultures, new people, civilizations and to gain historical knowledge has broadened my horizons on many levels. My travels have really helped me build my personality and become the dynamic person I am today, reinforcing my admiration for diversity.

Tutoring Experience:

No professional teaching experience but tutoring my classmates has always been a part of academic pathway.

Tutoring Approach:

My diverse life experiences whether they be rural, urban, national or international make me a unique teacher. Half of my life I have spent it volunteering in rural and urban areas back home in Lebanon and the other half I spent it volunteering in Canada. These experiences have allowed me to broaden my skills and techniques when it comes to leading initiatives and projects and learning new techniques to project and teach my ideas. This would be something unique I could bring to my students. I also bring to students a francophone. Not only am I passionate to learn but also passionate about teaching, having received multiple awards for my academic achievements, my passion for biology, and other sciences have pushed me further into completing my academic goals, and it would be an honour to help other students excel in their academic pathway.
