I am a certified teacher of Mathematics with two years experience. Before teaching I worked tutoring at Oxford Learning in Toronto, ON. I have been living and working in the UK teaching Mathematics at a jr. high and high school level (ages 11-18). Bachelors of Integrated Science specializing in Science Education from Carleton University in Ottawa
Post Graduate Degree in Education from University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK
Two years of teaching experience at the University Academy Keighley in Bradford, UK
My approach to tutoring involves personalizing a learning plan to the student. When I first meet a student I ask they bring any past assessments or learning materials they feel may be beneficial to my understanding of where they are in their understanding of mathematics. If I feel more information is needed I will design a further assessment personalized to the student to identify clear gaps in understanding and learning. From this initial diagnosis I will design a tuition plan that insures the identified issues are dealt with so the student can move forward in their learning of mathematics and find hopefully start to find some success and enjoyment in the subject.
