This is how 2 referees rated Dryden:
I am a graduate student in the Vancouver area. I hold a Master's Degree in Humanities (specialized in Philosophy) as well as a Bachelor's Degree in History and Philosophy. I have academic experience in the fields of History, Philosophy, Social Studies, English Literature, as well as Theology/Religious Studies. I am passionate about academic research and writing, and take great satisfaction in the practice of tutoring. Outside of my academic life, I enjoy movies, books, podcasts, and punk rock.
I have two years of experience teaching at the University level, in addition to two years of experience as a writing coach. I am comfortable tutoring in any subject of the humanities and am especially experienced in tutoring students in written work and the essay writing process.
In addition to my tutoring and teaching experience, I also have several years of volunteer experience working with youth ages 12-18.
I offer online tutoring sessions across Canada (provided things work out with time differences) as well as in-person sessions in the greater Vancouver area.
I try to keep my tutoring sessions as relaxed and informal as possible, and generally take a conceptual approach to education rather than forcing students to learn or memorize specific information. It is most important to me that my students understand the underlying ideas and concepts underneath the subject in which they are working. If our tutoring is focused on essay writing I will focus on giving the student the necessary skills to structure a well-formed written piece - skills which are applicable to every level or subject of academia.
