This is how a referee rated Christine:
Hi! I am Christine. I love math and science and would like to spend my free time help students who are struggling with mathematics or sciences courses. I am currently studying pre-med at Columbia University in New York city. I have been tutoring students from high school since 2013. My favorite part of teaching is making a difference in students' academic success through test scores and improved grades. I believe it is important to encourage students to improve in school and cultivate a passion for learning.
My work with students has been ongoing since 2013 and has involved junior high students from Vancouver, college students from New York, and even young ESL students in Shanghai. My expertise ranges from Middle School Math to Calculus I. I appreciate and respect math because of the precision, creativity, and attention to detail. Geometry and Algebra are arguably the most strategy-oriented fields, and thus they are my favorite to explore. I have scored both perfect score 800 in SAT math and SAT Subject Test in Mathematics Level 1 and level 2. I am available on the weekday and weekends. Feel free to send me a message if you are interested in a tutoring session together.
Einstein famously said that anything you cannot explain in terms your grandmother can understand is something you do not understand yourself. This is why, as someone who holds an advanced degree in physics, I feel it is an important part of my duty to speak to my students in ways they can understand and relate to and that reduce the sense of anxiety they may feel toward the subject matter.
By reducing the sense of intimidation students can feel toward math and physics, it is exciting for me to see students, who may have been frustrated in the past, start to experience these subjects in a positive way. Having the chance to see and be a part of that is one of the things I love about tutoring. This has always been my approach to tutoring.
