This is how 2 referees rated Chris:
I am currently a 3rd year student in Applied Mathematics at Athabasca with a GPA of 3.6. I was in the Human Science Program an AU and made the Honours list prior to switching to Applied Mathematics. From my previous work in the Human Science Program, I also have a background in Biology, Chemistry, and Microbiology.
I also have a undergrad degree in Economics and Mathematics from Carleton University in Ottawa, and have been working as a statistician, and computer science expert for over 25 years in various industries from Oil and Gas, Financial to most recently a Research Assistant at the Alberta Children's Hospital in the Medical Genetics Laboratory.
I have been tutoring a special needs students for approx. 1.5 years in grades 6 and 7 mathematics
I look forward to helping students reach their academic goals and also help them develop a passion for mathematics and science. Once a passion arises for something, learning is both fun and rewarding. My teaching style is to try to use practical/experiential examples wherever possible to help the student see not just the numbers, symbols and the language of math and science but beyond and apply it in the real world.
