Information About Chris - London tutor
I am a student in my final semester at the university of Western Ontario, majoring in English literature and Cultural studies. I am also pursuing a second degree in Environmental Sciences since that area of study is of great interest to me. I am going to teach abroad in Japan in 2019/2020 and would love to take become a tutor. My strength is in English, plus I am very proficient with math and science. I am interested in tutoring in London, Ontario, and in Toronto, Ontario. In the past I have taught karate during summer camp, and I also have a lot of volunteer experience with Boys and Girls club, along with organizing and running charity events for the CMHA and RedCross.
I am new to professional tutoring, but I am very excited to start.
The key to teaching is to have patience and to understand that every student learn at his or her own pace. I set attainable goals based on your child's individual needs so that it is always clear what your child is learning, what they are working towards, and how well they are progressing. I break down the goals into several steps (depending on what I'm teaching), which helps avoid any feelings of being overwhelmed or unable to handle what may seem like a long and strenuous task. To ensure your child is understanding and learning the material, I find that it is best to have several short tests mixed in with each section of the lesson. This helps me ensure that no step is skipped or not totally understood, and I adapt my lessons based on your child's results.
